Hannah is an international teacher and life-long practitioner of movement. She has a diverse background as a competitive boxer and dancer, philosopher, and spoken-word poet. Hannah's classes are uniquely powerful, incorporating deep focus on breath movement, a mastery of poetic language, and profound physical intelligence. Hannah specializes in arm balances, functional core work, and individual modifications to work around injuries. Hannah's passion is to hold space for her students to gain a greater somatic understanding of themselves, and a more refined sense of presence through the practice of movement and breath.

Hannah began her movement training in 1992 when she began studying dance. As a teenager, she trained and competed both in dance and boxing. Although a passionate mover, Hannah struggled with many injuries and physical obstacles, eventually leading to knee surgeries and a long path of healing. It was on this path where Hannah focused on the healing practices of yoga and Pilates, and gained an enthusiastic interest in the studies of functional anatomy, eastern philosophy, fitness, nutrition, and energy work.

Hannah lived for many years in between India, Brazil, Guatemala, and Peru where she studied and taught movement, philosophy, languages, and varied healing practices. During these years, she received a BA in philosophy, certifications as a 500 hour Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, massage therapist, Reiki Master, National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutritionist, Balanced Body Pilates Mat and Reformer Instructor, ATI certified Alexander Technique Practitioner, and more. Hannah developed her self-practice as a yogi and fitness enthusiast and decided to return to Boston to further some educational pursuits and continue teaching.

In Boston, Hannah built a community at Down Under School of Yoga where she continues to work alongside inspiring faculty and motivated students. She teaches her weekly public yoga and Pilates classes at the Newton and Brookline Down Under Yoga studios. All of her classes are available live-stream for her students to attend from all over the world.

Whether in the capacity of a yoga, Pilates, Alexander Technique, fitness, or bodywork, you will hear in Hannah's language and feel in your body a great gift and knowledge for understanding and teaching movement.
